Note from My Desk:

How do you feel about winter weather? Personally, I love this time of year; the colder weather just agrees with me. One of my favorite things is Tamales and Champurado.  I was thinking this week about putting together a list of recommended Tamales and Champurado spots in SD. However, my week got away from me. My 9-year-old son has a colonoscopy scheduled for tomorrow, so that's been on my mind. 😔

In place of a list of places, I found you a recipe you can make at home. Some people have dairy allergies, and some places vary in their Champurado... so sometimes homemade is just better. 🍲 If you try this recipe, send me pics, please! 📸

The article provides a recipe for making champurrado, a traditional Mexican hot chocolate drink thickened with masa harina.

The easy-to-follow recipe calls for basic ingredients like milk, cinnamon, chocolate, and masa harina, which is the key to its unique consistency.

The author advises on how to properly whisk the mixture to achieve a smooth and creamy texture and suggests serving it with pan dulce or tamales for a complete experience.

Overall, champurrado is a comforting and satisfying beverage that is perfect for cold weather or as a special treat.

The increase in parking meter rates is part of a larger plan to increase revenue and reduce the deficit, which includes a combination of spending cuts and revenue enhancements.
Showers and snow are expected in San Diego County this week, with up to 4 inches of snow predicted in the mountain areas.

The precipitation is a result of a trough of low pressure moving through the region, bringing colder temperatures and the potential for slick roads.

Residents are warned to be cautious while driving and to allow extra time for travel.

The snowfall is a welcome sight for local ski resorts, as they have been struggling with low snow levels this winter season.

Overall, the weather forecast for the week includes a mix of rain showers and snowfall in the region.
